About Project πŸ“–

About Project πŸ“–

Poplite by Populix is an online survey platform for businesses and academics in Indonesia, offering targeted responses from a vast network of 250,000+ panelists, much like an advanced Google Forms where you specify who answers your survey.

However, when users attempt to create their first survey with Poplite, there is a significant drop-off rate of up to 50% from registration to survey creation.

This project outlines the redesign of Poplite's survey creation process, through combination of analyzing user behavior with product analytics, competitor analysis, and brainstorming sessions. The result is a remarkable 95% reduction in the time required for users to create a survey, slashing the duration from 40 minutes to a mere 2 minutes per user.

We identified a significant issue, 50% drop-off occurs after users successfully register and trying to create their first survey on Poplite.

We identified a significant issue, 50% drop-off occurs after users successfully register and trying to create their first survey on Poplite.

We have a hypothesis that the drop-off might be linked to the original process requiring users to sequentially complete four steps: entering a title, uploading an image, crafting questions, and specifying respondent criteria, with no option to bypass any step. For a detailed walkthrough of this process, please refer to the video below.

First of all, we need to analyze competitor survey creation workflows.

Poplite value proposition is for the respondent not the survey builder and this also followed by our successful metrics, by creating a survey, by putting what Poplite want to sell in the first step, it will make easier to reach the metrics.

Hassle free to skip the process 😎

Hassle free to skip the process 😎

We've decided to simplify the process due to the complexity of the old flow, which had to be completed step by step without skipping. Now, it's just four steps, and users can skip freely to enhance their experience πŸ₯³

Step 1: Choose respondent type

Step 1: Choose respondent type

The value proposition of Poplite, which focuses on targeting the respondents, was previously buried in Step 5 of the old flow, leading to significant drop-offs before users reached this point. By moving this step forward, we clarify Poplite's offerings from the start.

Step 2: Define respondent demographic

Step 2: Define respondent demographic

On the old flow, selecting respondents required navigating to a modal with complex information. This has been simplified by allowing users to directly specify their respondents right after choosing them, making the process more straightforward.

Step 3: Creating a Question

Step 3: Creating a Question

In the previous design, Title and Subtitle were part of Step 1. However, we found that combining this step with the question creation page allows users to focus more on crafting their survey questions.
